Privacy policy

Here we explain what data we collect on this site, what we use it for and how you can ask to see, correct or delete it. This site was built to collect as little as possible.

This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.

Who is responsible for your data

Academia R&D, an urban dance school with registered office at Rua Cais de S. Roque, nº 81, 3800-256 Aveiro, Portugal (tax number PT515310980), is the controller of the data collected through academiard.com.

For any question about privacy, write to geral@academiard.com or call (+351) 914 381 327.

What data we collect

We only collect data when you contact us. The "Get in touch" form asks for:

When you press "Send", your message goes through the Web3Forms service, which delivers it to the school by email. The site itself stores nothing. If sending fails, the site offers you alternatives: open the message in Gmail or copy the text, in which case you send it yourself. When you open it in Gmail, the text goes to your Google account (it may be saved as a draft), under Google's privacy policy. The same applies when you write to us or call us directly.

What we use it for

We use this data only to reply to your request, for example to book your trial class. The legal basis is your own request (steps prior to entering into a contract, Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR).

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or pass it on to third parties. If one day we want to send you news, we'll ask for your consent first.

Dancers under 18

If the dancer is under 18, the request should be made by a parent or legal guardian. We only ask for the age, to point you to the right class.

How long we keep it

We keep your message for as long as we need to reply to your request and, if you enrol, for as long as your relationship with the school lasts, plus any legal obligations that apply. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who helps us process the data

We rely on three service providers, which process the data on our behalf and with the safeguards required by the GDPR:

These providers may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (for example, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission).

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use cookies or any analytics, advertising or tracking tools (such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel). Fonts and images are hosted on the site itself, so your visit isn't shared with other services. That's also why we don't show you a cookie banner.

Links to other sites

The site links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail and our partners' websites. When you open them, you become subject to those sites' privacy policies, for which Academia R&D is not responsible.

Your rights

At any time, you have the right to:

Just write to geral@academiard.com. We reply within one month at most.

If you feel your data hasn't been handled properly, you can also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).

Changes to this policy

If we change the way we handle data (for example, if the form starts sending requests on its own), we'll update this page and the date at the top.

Applicable law

This policy follows the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Law no. 58/2019 of 8 August, which implements it in Portugal.
